Don Haugen – angels with black wings CD-R)

Don Haugen hails from Eugene, Oregon, USA. I got a small parcel containing various trading goodies including this album. Upon the first listen I was pleasantly surprised. This is almost relaxing music. There`s four long tracks in here (total running time = 75.30 minutes, damn!!!). This is low-fi ,drony,  almost chill-out material. Every track evolves slowly, moves slowly, and slowly drifts like a subtle assemblage. It sounds like a mix between field recordings, ambient noise and ambient darkwave. A  peaceful, almost meditative mood, with a highly desolate atmosphere included. Feels like it`s  late at night and I`m caught inside a lifeless, empty factory. I`m slowly agonizing, my soul is freezing, will someone please help me. Feed me more, indeed. More information here:

Kapreles - soundtrack for a headache (cassette)

I got this as a trade item. Upon the first listen I taught another junk noise release. I listened to `Kapreles - soundtrack for a headache` over and over, just to have a better idea. And that`s where it hit me, around the seventh or eight round, this is an interesting and challenging noise release. This album consists of 15 tracks of various lengths and styles (total running time 73.27 minutes). There`s some computer generated vocal stuff  (tracks 1 and 5), some amazing meditative synth oriented music (tracks 6 and 9), ambient noise (number 2 and 8),  meditative noise (tracks 3 and 7), various noisy experiments gone haywire (number 4, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14), and a right wing Christian spoken word piece to conclude (in a magnificent way) this cassette. I was reading a zine while listening to this cassette, good background music indeed. My favorite songs are `cold sore` and `reverse birth, incredible ambient \ meditative synth music. Oblongata – Oblongata (bootleg tape)

Another trade item.  No cover and no information whatsoever (I found nothing on the internet). Oblongate receives the award of the anonymous album of the day. There`s 6 tracks on this here recording. The `music` is dirty, noisy, heavily distorted, grungy guitar works (think Mudhoney, Alice In Chains, or Tad) with some peaceful moments (think ambient noise) thrown in. This isn`t my favorite experimental noise recording. I`m blasé `cause I`ve listened to a shitload of similar material. To be perfectly honest, three pieces caught my attention. The first one `00`is a nice slow, grungy, spacey attack of the senses. It sounds like being inside a space vacuum, wow! The second one `bells `, uses some nice percussive low-fi bell sounds (I like it, I like it). Thre last piece `sutara`. is a Jim Jonesesque, obsessive, catholic spoken word piece. The perfect way to end it.
