C.A.N.S. and Trotsky - Operation Teapot & Lafayette's Swindle (mp3)

I said it before and I`ll say it again, I like Dan Reaves various noise \ musical projects. This time around it`s a short (nearly 14 minutes long) two songs mini album. I was expecting experimental noise and \ or harsh stuff, but man, was I wrong here. This is a collaboration between senior Reaves and Dana Young. Let`s start with:

1- operation teapot: beats + lil noise bytes \ bursts + synth + various samples + tight sequencing = near techno dirges with a spacey (space-out) atmosphere. I love this shit!!!

2- Lafayette`s swindle: beats + percussive elements + synth + light noise bursts (which goes into smoother moments, feels like ambient territory) = sounds like Tetsuo The Iron Man doing some type of digital hardcore raving, damn straight boys and girls!!!. Tree – schizophrenic architecture (mp3)

I got this from www.archives.org (along a couple of GO of various cool freebies). This is a 13 track album of tape recorder and live recordings of Tree (Josh Boutwell) recorded by hand at Steele Grinder, Fort Myers, Florida, USA. After reading said description, I was really curious so I downloaded it right away. I`m a sucker for low-fi stuff, homemade recordings, improvised insanity, well anything that`s different i.e. out there. You won`t find any Michael Jackson, Beattles or Celine Dion in my music collection that`s for sure. Every tract in here  has it`s own style and personality. A difficult , challenging listen to say the least. This album is experimental noise which rarely goes into harsh noise territory. There`s the occasional noise burst here and there, but that`s it. There`s a  good variety of sounds mixed-in to keep this recording interesting. Personaly, I like this lil `(46.28 minutes) album. The standout track is number 9 `the Burmese cynic` a short acoustic noisy blues jam session, simply excellent. Get it here:

Pangaea Culmination - two years of noise mayhem (bootleg tape)

A long (95.42 minutes) and challenging listening experience no doubt.  This is a compilation of artists to have played Pangaea Project shows in the first 2 years.  The PANGAEA PROJECT was created to be a forum for avant garde, electronic and experimental artists, musicians, dancers, performance artists, et cetera. They are looking for: Electronica, Noise, Free-Jazz, Neo-Minimalism, Experimental, Improvisation-based, Post-Punk, off-the-beaten-path and boundary-pushing forms of expression. Which means they` re not into commercial music (now we have something in common here). I loved this tape because there` s a good variety of stuff in there. You will hear a lot of experimental noise, some song oriented minimal electronics (Jackie Ransom),  acoustic chaotic punk (Blast And The Detergents), low-fi acoustic blues noodlings (Permanent Makeup), low-fi pop with gothic undertones (Stick Figure), amazing ambient noise (DJ Hollowlife), experimental music (Trotsky`s Watercooler and Tree), warped low-fi electronics (Divewood), experimental grungy guitar noise (Wampo), near ambient low-fi noise (Tim Kaiser), a bongo and spoken word piece (Hal And Mark McGee), one out-there song oriented piece (Riss), one instrumental grungy \ swampy piece (Stoil), and last but not least, and experimental ambient track courtesy of Koas. This compilation will provide good companionship for those long hardcore Canadian winters. More info here:
