Mayan Apocalypse – Mayan Apocalypse (CD-R)

This is the first release from a brand new noise act (consisting of Thompson and Zachary Short `Black Beast Of Arrrghhh`himself) from Florida, USA. I love this album. It`s a mixture of noise and spoken rants. There`s five tracks, which are:
1- the vision: minimal electronics (recalls Suicide and \ or Corpusse) with some noise bursts (thrown in for good measure) colliding with Thompsn`s own spoken rant. An amazing epic piece indeed.
2- #@ you suck: bizarre noise constructions + spoken rant = an unclassifiable piece of sonic mayhem.
3- anarchy in the 727: I think that Mayan Apocalypse are not fans of the Sex Pistols (you gotta hear this to believe it).
4- the dream: we hear Thompson`s voice (with echo \ reverb included) mixed with lo-fi, toned down feedback. Experimental, almost dreamy noisescapes which slowly becomes a nightmarish reality.
5- the end: the conclusion, an out there, out of this world apocalyptic bleak nightmare. Loads of feedback confronting Thompson`s spoken rants. I need at least two Tylenols to survive this album. Magnificent. Get it here: Thompson

art is everywhere part 5....

Here's a brand new flyer i.e. 'artistic' ephemera. The following piece is an actual flyer that I received by old school mail, courtesy of Thompson himself.

This time around, mailart from USA

I received recently those amazing mailart pieces, courtesy of Node Pajomo and Thompson. The following pieces are from Node Pajomo:

Look at the nice black and white almost foggy 'atmosphere' on that one.

This last piece comes from Thompson (who needs no introduction). Look at those details. It's pretty amazing stuff indeed.

Thompson part 3

Here's the last batch of Thompson's incredible colour collages. I will probably post some more on the near futur. Enjoy !

Thompson part 2

Here's some more of Thompson' s collages.

Thompson part 1

If you like art like I do, you should check out those amazing colour collages, courtesy of Thompson (P.O.Box 4616, Clearwater, Florida, 33758-4616, USA). He also records some really good experimental noise. It's definitely worth the listen.
