Don Haugen – angels with black wings CD-R)
Don Haugen hails from Eugene , Oregon , USA . I got a small parcel containing various trading goodies including this album. Upon the first listen I was pleasantly surprised. This is almost relaxing music. There`s four long tracks in here (total running time = 75.30 minutes, damn!!!). This is low-fi ,drony, almost chill-out material. Every track evolves slowly, moves slowly, and slowly drifts like a subtle assemblage. It sounds like a mix between field recordings, ambient noise and ambient darkwave. A peaceful, almost meditative mood, with a highly desolate atmosphere included. Feels like it`s late at night and I`m caught inside a lifeless, empty factory. I`m slowly agonizing, my soul is freezing, will someone please help me. Feed me more, indeed. More information here:

Trotsky`s Watercooler – gas money (CD-R)
Trotsky`s Watercooler is the solo noise project of mister Dan Reaves, from Orlando, Florida, USA. I like this album, it`s not harsh noise. It`s even relaxing at times. There`s six tracks and a grand total of 52.07 minutes of experimental noise. And here`s what it looks like:
1- is this thing on: low-fi frequencies (almost ambient noise) + various banging & grating = bringing me down the road to hell.
2- Mount Fuji eruption 1707: random percussions + banging + harsh distortion (there`s something dark running in the background too).
3- happy birthday, your dying: percussions mixed with weird frequencies, providing almost musical qualities = noise techno maybe? Feels like slowed down and toned down and stoner version of Pan Sonic..
4- for granpaw meeker (live at Austins , Winter Haven , Florida ): short light distortion \ frequency burst + grating \ scratching in the background = noise which melts in your mind not in your mouth.
5- untitled – untitled larvae cerebrum: there`s some type of dark synth line colliding with various noisy doodads = definitely meditative material here.
6- caetera desunt (rest is lost): a mashup \ a mix of various noisy stuff (distortion, phasers, what the fuck) = a chaotic infernal joyride indeed. I can`t wait to hear some more. More information here:
he`s soundcloud friendly too:

9-Way Split (CD-R)
9-Way
Split (CD-R)
I recently received a small parcel containing assorted
weirdness like color collages, some CD-R`s, one DVD, a couple of good old
analog tapes and some flyers. This album features nine noise \ shitnoise bands
\ solo artist (limited edition of thirty copies, definitely rare material). I
really enjoyed this release a lot. It doesn`t sound like your typical harsh
wall of noise attack at all. Every one has a different style. Here`s a brief of
what it sounds like:
1- Robert
Deathrago – brutal head: processed voice \ mumblings (about tight asses
& in the mood for some ass = various sexual nonsense) mixed with toy guitar
and \ or electric guitar (sounds like a weird stop motion atmospheric porn flick from the
seventies).
2- Dolan Hose –
I`m finna: somebody`s pretending to sing here + light noisy chunky bits =
sweet.
3- Dangerous
Noise Tornado – noise assault: a mix of various chaotic low-fi metal \
plastic banging which creates a meditative mood and \ or feeling to this piece.
4- Crapshack –
untitled: various loose, improvised metal grating & banging (I just
love that stuff).
5- Kakapo-
flounshit: various samples & field recordings & alien
unrecognizable noise of unknown origin (sounds like a horror movie soundtrack
indeed).
6- Brutal
Pasture- live at lake mirror: harsh metal banging & low-fi noise sources
= ouch me balls!!!
7- Frank Goshit
– things; there`s some sparrow samples and lots of low-fi noodlings in the
background near ambient noise material.
8- Chicken
Thomas – harsh chicken shit noise wall with
a fan: that`s exactly what it is
(enough said).
9- Susan Smith – chien: a male vox keeps repeating the
word `chien` (dog in english) ad infinitum with some bell sounds mied for good
measure = ritual music with dark undertones. (Lady

Defiance Of Gothic Nirvana X Issue 34 (zine)
I got this one form the man himself Jeremy Bequette
(an anti-technology, kinda weird but decent guy from the deep bowels of the
underground). This is a 8.5 by 11 inches black and white, cut and paste zine.
There`s a lot of shit happening inside those twenty pages. Let`s see, there`s
some DVD reviews, a couple of gross porn pictures ( he probably likes them too),
some, offensively funny music reviews (hey, I have a sick sense of humor, leave
me alone and blame it on society), including Minimal Frank`s `wrecking
havoc`cd, now that`s what I`m talking about. Next there`s some weird ass
shorties like: sad decline of me \ brain power zero (gives you an idea of his
mental state at the present time, shouldn`t have read it), trapped in east
St.Louis (that`s funny indeed), polish Hitler fag, my first gig (nice), Dave
Chapman tribute (good tribute), what the fuck is wrong with me \ no more women
(and I taught I was a sick puppy, buddy you need serious help here), and
finally, slave day \ turtle \ my cute cock (don`t want to know). I recommend
this to folks which are open minded and not easily offended. Don`t forget that
Jeremy is also `Satan`s God`( solo experimental masturbatory bass incantations
and invocations, damn straight).

Hiroshima Yeah! #99 (May 2013) (zine)
Another fine 8.5 by 11 inches black and white, cut and paste, four pager publication. We have on the front page Mark`s amazingly realistic, sarcastic and melancholic poetry i.e observations of daily life indeed. Then there`s Gary Simmons ongoing serial about life in jail (1.5 years behind bars…). He should write a book about it too. Yes it`s that good. Next there`s some music, concerts and DVD reviews. Mark seems to enjoy Vic Chesnutt`s music. I never heard about him before, think I`ll do some serious music investigation here. We close this little zine with `holiday season `a short story courtesy of Mark Ritchie himself. A kinda weird ditty but then again this is Hiroshima Yeah! Not the New-Yorker. So sit down in your favorite chair, have a cold beer \ cider and enjoy the ride folks!!!

Hiroshima Yeah! #98 (April 2013) (zine)
HY is a 8.5 by 11 inches black and white, cut and paste, five pages zine. I just can`t believe that Mark Ritchie publishes his zine every month. His poems are short and sweet. My favorite one is `pricks`. I can sorth of relate to that because I worked for nearly two years for a telemarketing company. Here`s what it sounds like:
Pricks
Working in a call centre
Sometimes makes you feel
Like a jaded old prostitute
You just get sick of dealing with
An endless succession of pricks
Beautiful ain`t it? Then we have 1.5 years behind bars (Gary Simmons writes about life in the inside i.e. in jail = wry observations indeed), some concerts & music reviews (including Minimal Frank`s – wrecking havoc CD, and how cool is that). There`s some DVD and also a book review as well. I highly recommend this small lil zine, damn straight brothers and sisters. Contact here:
